COVID-19 Update - 4/8/20

At Sunbury Osteopathy we are continuing to stay updated on the ever evolving Coronavirus outbreak situation. At this stage (4/08/20), the Minister for Health has stated that all allied health businesses can remain open. We are still waiting on further clarification into what capacity we can remain open.

Sunbury Osteopathy will remain open until further advised by the government and regulating bodies. In the event we are advised to close, we will be sure to update all of our clients as soon as possible.

At Sunbury Osteopathy we care about our clients and in the midst of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, it’s important that we give you as much information as possible about the procedures we adhere to in order to maintain a sanitary environment and ensure the safety of all our customers.

Our Osteopath Anica is wearing PPE as per government requirements including wearing a level 1 disposable mask and a face shield.

The virus is most likely spread through:

  • close contact with an infectious person
  • contact with droplets from an infected person’s cough or sneeze
  • touching objects or surfaces (like doorknobs or tables) that have cough or sneeze droplets from an infected person, and then touching your mouth or face.

We request if you have recently travelled to a high infection area or been in contact with anyone known to have Coronavirus we request that you do not attend the clinic without calling our Osteopath Anica.

We will continue to uphold our high clinical and sanitation standards.

These practices include:

  • Disinfectant and wipe down of treatment surfaces after each customer interaction
  • Daily cleaning and sterilisation of treatment equipment
  • Having single-use and/or disposable items such as dry needles and gloves
  • Cleaning of linen and gowns after each patient
  • Thorough daily cleaning of all high touch areas with high grade disinfectant, including reception surfaces, door handles, and treatment areas
  • Availability of hand sanitizer during all appointments

In addition we are also asking all clients to wear a mask to their appointment as per government requirements and wash/sanitize their hands upon arrival before entering the treatment room. Everyone should practice good hygiene to protect against infections.

Good hygiene includes:

  • washing your hands often with soap and water
  • using a tissue and cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze
  • avoiding close contact with others, such as touching

Sunbury Osteopathy Consult Options

📱 Sunbury Osteopathy now offering remote consults via Telehealth📱

Take a look at the below Consult Options table which details each service now available at Sunbury Osteopathy 👀👇

During this time, most of us are required to think of different ways of offering our services.

Whilst we are still continuing to offer in clinic appointments, Sunbury Osteopathy will now also use Physitrack to allow our clients to access our Osteopath Anica remotely via a video call.
The Physitrack App and Software also enables us to create and send personalised exercise and management programs for our patients to easily access on their computers or smart phones. 💻📲

This service will be great for those needing an Osteopathic consult and support, without the need to come into the clinic and continue to practice safe social isolation. 🏠

Should there be a time when we are unable to continue to offer hands on treatment, we will be able to offer all our consults online.

Whilst we are unable to provide hands on treatment with this remote service, our Osteopath Anica will still be able to take a thorough case and medical history, assess, diagnose and provide advice on how to best manage your pain or condition. 👩‍⚕️

Sunbury Osteopathy will now be providing the below consult options:

1. Telehealth Remote Consult
2. Telehealth Remote Consult + Rehab Program
3. Standard Osteopathy Consult

Telehealth has now also been approved by Medicare via the Care Plan, Workcover and DVA services. ☑️

Unfortunately at this time you will be unable to use your private health insurance for a Telehealth consult.

If you wish to learn more about Telehealth feel free to watch this short video from the NSW government https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPGmJ55e9gQ
